Going forward, dealing with dozens of unrelated invitations can be frustrating. If that sounds like you, here’s how to stop receiving invitations related to LinkedIn pages, events, and newsletters.
How to turn off page, event, and newsletter invitations on LinkedIn
Maybe you are a busy person and barely have time for LinkedIn, or maybe you intend to use the platform to grow your connections or promote your business. Regardless, you probably don’t want to spend hours sorting through invitations on pages, events, and newsletters.
Invitations to connect can be too much to handle, so anything beyond that may not be necessary. Removing page, event, and newsletter invitations can reduce clutter in your invitations.
The process for disabling these invitations is slightly different depending on whether you’re using a desktop app or an app.
How to turn off LinkedIn invitations on desktop
Follow the steps below to turn off invitations to LinkedIn desktop pages, events, and newsletters.
- Log in to LinkedIn in your browser and click your Profile icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Click Settings & privacy and select the Data Privacy tab on the left.
- Select Invitations from your network and turn off all three options: Allow site invitations, Allow event invitations, and Allow newsletter invitations.

That’s it. You will no longer be bombarded with invitations that you cannot bother with. And if you want to start receiving these invitations again in the future, just follow the same steps listed above and enable the setting.
For invitations you’ve received, you can anonymously view the sender’s LinkedIn profile before deciding whether to accept it.
How Page, Event, and Newsletter Invitations work on LinkedIn
When you follow someone or a page with a newsletter on LinkedIn, the platform automatically sends you an invitation to subscribe. This is because LinkedIn wants you to know what your connections are talking about, especially since it might be relevant to you. Of course, you are not required to accept the invitation.
Your connections may also send you invitations to follow pages they think you might be interested in. However, this is not always true. Sending page invitations is one way to attract new customers on LinkedIn, so some users send out invites to raise awareness.
Take control of your LinkedIn experience
Unlike some other social media platforms, you typically won’t spend hours on LinkedIn in one go. So when you use this platform, you want to make the most of your time. Reduce distractions and clutter by personalizing your experience; Disable invitations you don’t want to receive.
