Following a surprising fourth-place finish at the ALGS Championship, iiTzTimmy confirmed that he will join his teammates under the banner of The Dojo to compete next season.
Before making a splash at the world championship, The Dojo was an underdog team consisting of Timothy ‘iiTzTimmy’ An, Alex ‘Enemy’ Rodriguez and Tyler ‘Dezignful’ Gardner.
Few gave them a chance to qualify for the event via the Last Chance Qualifiers, with TSM’s Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen questioning the team’s lack of experienced IGL.
However, Timmy put these doubts to rest once and for all when he led the team to the championship in Birmingham, where they finished fourth.
Dojo could even win the entire event if they win a key fight against TSM in the final match. Instead, TSM won the match, which secured them the best spot in the final ring and lifted the trophy.
The dojo will stick together in ALGS Year 4
During his livestream on September 12, Timmy mentioned the group’s upcoming plans.
“We’ll run it again. We will continue to compete together, we will practice, we will play the next tournament.
“I think the next LAN is in three or four months, so we just have to prepare for that, hopefully we’ll qualify for that, do well there and you know , take the damn trophy home.”
Timmy went on to argue that their team is one of the top fighting teams in the game, responding to some of the criticism they received for ‘ratting’ – a term used to refer to hiding in a secluded area to improve kill position.
“I am so happy. I’m so excited for us. Personally, I think we are one of the top fighting teams today. As it was proven, we had the most kills, we had to fight a lot. We have strategies around reviews, but that’s the game,” Timmy explains.
He continued, “Hate me for playing the game differently than some of the other teams, but do what you have to do, you know, to win.”
Indeed, The Dojo finished the ALGS Championship with the fourth-highest kill total at 129, just a few kills behind TSM (133). Individually, Enemy finished 9th overall in kills at the event, with 51, mainly thanks to a whopping 18 kills in the finals, just behind ImperialHal’s 22.
Full circuit details for ALGS Year 4 are yet to be confirmed, but we now know Dojo will be there.
