Junior Balaiah (1953-2023) was a famous Indian actor in Tamil cinema, mainly regarded as the son of actor TS Balaiah. Throughout his four-decade career, he played mostly supporting roles and also played comic and villainous roles in Tamil films. He died of a heart attack on November 2, 2023, at his home in Chennai.

Balaiah’s father’s name is TS Balaiah and he is a popular actor. In 1972, Balaiya’s father died three days before the release of his first film. The film “Suttaan Sutten” directed by MR Radha has Balaiah playing the role of Radha’s son. Balea’s father was also a part of the film, but when he passed away, they had to stop filming.
His mother’s name is Mallika. He has two brothers Ganesh Balaya (singer) and Saibaba (playback singer). He has a sister named Manochithra who is an actress.

He made his acting debut in 1975 with the Tamil film Melnaattu Marumagal.
His notable films include Karagattakaran (1989), Sundara Kandam (1992), Cheran Chozhan Pandian (1998), Aindhaam Thalaimurai Sidha Vaidhiya Sigamani (2014) and Nerkonda Parvai (2019). “Nerkonda Parvai” is the Tamil version of the Bollywood film “Pink” (2016).
In 2000, he made his television debut as James in the Sun TV show “Chithi”. Apart from films, Balaiah has also appeared in television shows such as “Vazhkai” (2000-2001) as Prabhakar’s father and “Chinna Papa Periya Papa” (2014) as Masanam in the first season.
In 2020, he made his OTT debut with the web series Mugilan on ZEE 5.
Balaiya died at his home in Chennai on November 2, 2023, due to a heart attack and he also experienced suffocation.
