MatPat transforms Colleen Ballinger with incredible Streamys play

YouTube star MatPat delivered a scathing segment aimed at disgraced creator Colleen Ballinger in an astonishing moment at the Streamy Awards.

Colleen Ballinger is an OG YouTuber best known for her comedic character ‘Miranda Sings’ – but she fell out of favor following a huge scandal that rocked the network earlier this year.

Although allegations surrounding Ballinger’s alleged inappropriate behavior towards young fans have been around since 2020, the allegations flared up again in June, with many fans claiming that she took advantage of them.

Ballinger infamously reacted to the allegations in a 10-minute video in which she sang a song while playing the ukulele, claiming that her management team had “strongly recommended” she shouldn’t “say what I mean” but “realize that they never said I couldn’t sing.”

This YouTuber’s apology video, which has since been dubbed the ‘Toxic Gossip Train’, was mocked relentlessly online – and lashed out again during the 2023 Streamy Awards.

In Streamys, YouTube star MatPat (of the popular Game Theory) took to the stage to perform a simulated “tribute” segment where he mocked the social media platforms that hit some big Ls. over the past year (including Twitch’s 70/30 split TV series and Elon Musk’s X/Twitter rebranding).

Throughout the play, a woman sits on a chair on the stage and plays the ukulele. It was not until the end, when MatPat went to get the guitar, that he was clearly pointing at Colleen Ballinger.

“But the tragic loss of this has really hit the creator community the hardest,” MatPat said. “Something where the train unfortunately leaves the station with a ten-minute video that is ill-advised.”

MatPat took out his ukulele and said, “I’m sorry.”

The woman then stood up and said, “No, I’m sorry” before going backstage. MatPat looked at the crowd with understanding eyes and said, “Looks like someone knows how to apologize.”

The internet left them gasping at MatPat’s brazenness in criticizing Ballinger, with whom he worked before the charges against her arose.

Currently, not much else is known about Colleen’s fate after her attorney sent a cease-and-desist letter to YouTuber Ethan Klein… but instead, it was accidentally sent to a fan .
