Ranvir Shorey was born on Friday, August 18, 1972 (age 51; as of 2023) in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. His zodiac sign is Leo. When he was one year old, his family moved to Mumbai. He went to school in Mumbai. In junior college, he studied science. In the first year after graduation, he changed his major to art. In the second year after graduation, he dropped out. He subsequently completed a Diploma in Film Video Production from Xavier College of Communication, Mumbai and a Diploma in Film Production from Digital Film Institute, New York. Later, he studied practical aesthetics at the Atlantic Theater Company in New York.

In 2006, while filming the Hindi movie “Mixed Doubles”, he met Indian actress Konkana Sen. Soon, they became friends and later fell in love with each other. After several years of living together, the couple got engaged in 2008. The couple got married in a private ceremony on September 3, 2010, at their residence in Goregaon.

• He revealed in an interview that when he was a child, his family lived in a rented two-story apartment. However, after his father’s film failed, his family faced various financial difficulties.

• He once revealed that he was named after Indian actor and producer Raj Kapoor (real name Ranbir Raj). However, Shorey’s name was misspelled during admission and Ranbir became Ranveer.
