Many accounts have used artificial intelligence (AI) to create pornographic deepfake images of artists. Talking to Zing, the lawyer said this was a wrong action and needed to be handled.
Deepfake is creating a new danger for Vietnamese celebrities. This is a situation where singers and actors have their faces transplanted into depraved images and videos. This is a common problem in most entertainment industries, from Hollywood, Chinese, Korean and now Vietnam. This situation has been enhanced for many years but has not been thoroughly handled due to the development and lack of control of a series of social networking platforms.
Deepfake is a technology that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to create fake images. Using this technique, the faces of women and men in a video or image can be replaced with the faces of other people, especially famous stars. Many people use this technology to create images, video sensors, and major profits.
A series of Vietnamese stars are victims of provocative deepfake photos
In the past month or so, a Twitter account has continuously posted sensitive images of male stars with their glasses on. This account announced: “Received a fake photo of the artist, TikToker, you have a crush on as requested. Absolute safety guaranteed (inbox fee). All of this is for entertainment purposes only, no offensive feelings are intended.”
Many singers, actors or famous faces on social networks in Vietnam have become victims, such as Son Tung M-TP, HIEUTHUHAI, Quan AP, Lien Binh Phat… and the latest is Ngo Kien Huy. They have been stitched into continuous and sensitive full images.
In a newly posted post, this account announced: “The Next Gentleman sales event ends. From today we will return to the original price, everyone.” According to this notice, you can find this account image recognition on request for a fee. A series of other supposed solicitation posts also appeared such as: “The album’s customer feedback (PV: feedback) is so good, should we continue selling it?” or “Flick forward to the page to see the photos of the top 8 The Next Gentleman. Includes 10 solo photos and 2 group photos. Priority is given to 10 people who text to get the price.”
The posts of the above accounts all receive great interaction. In the comments section, followers of this account constantly remind different artists and their desire to have deepfake images. Names from both domestic and international showbiz are mentioned.
