After being banned by the Amazon-owned platform years ago, streamer DerekGraz was one of many who switched to Kick. During the livestream on September 9, the co-founder of the Trainwrecks platform suddenly followed and gave away 100 subscribers.
Completely stunned and leaving the streamer speechless, the Kick co-founder went on to give away another 100 subscribers, before giving him a lifetime donation, depositing $5k. “So much love, please donate $5,000 to that beloved brother,” he wrote in the donation message.
It’s fair to say DerekGraz was delighted. After the livestream, he took to Twitter, thanking both Trainwrecks and Kick for giving him hope and allowing him to pursue his dreams.
“2 years ago I was banned from Twitch for no reason, no time, no nothing. My account just disappeared,” the streamer wrote. “I felt hopeless and depressed for months. My life fell straight from the highest point to the bottom. “I can’t describe how terrible I feel…”
He added: “I don’t think @KickStreaming realizes how many people have come out of depression and gives them hope to become successful creators and pursue their dreams.”
Kick has only continued to grow over the past few months, quickly becoming one of the biggest rivals to streaming giant Twitch.
